  • Assessment of oral anatomy (tongue and lip ties if visible), the baby’s tone and movement, and the parent’s breast for nipple shape, cracking, or signs of infection. They may guide you to palpate your breast for fullness, lumps, or blocked ducts and report findings.

  • Practical coaching: You’ll receive step-by-step guidance for

  • positioning

  • latch techniques

  • massage, compression, and supportive holds.

  • pumps, inserts, and flange sizing

  • Troubleshooting and education: Explanations may include milk supply basics, engorgement, mastitis signs, nipple pain causes, bottle/formula supplementation advice if applicable, and safe medication guidance relevant to breastfeeding.
